The Douglas College Training Group is a leader in the delivery and design of customized labour market transition training and programs for government, business and other community groups.
Newcomers often have the appropriate credentials, training and skills from outside Canada to excel in their respective fields. However, they often lack guidance and resources to launch their career in Canada.
The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants is designed to ease the transition by supporting newcomers living in the Tri-Cities who are internationally trained professionals.
Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants provides one-on-one coaching and resources needed to support newcomers in gaining employment in their field of training. More specifically, the participants receive:
- Coaching on licensing and regulatory requirements for their profession
- A designated Career Coach for assistance and job search support
- Funding towards a professional designation, English upgrading or short-term training
The program has several intakes.
