April 19 & 26 , 2018: Information Sessions of the Library Champions Project – Excellent Volunteer Opportunities for Newcomers in the Tri-Cities

Over the last three years, the Library Champions Project has trained more than 1,000 new immigrants. With improved communication and presentation skills, these champions have shared library and settlement information with more than 60,000 other new immigrants! If you’re interested in becoming a Library Champion, you must register for and attend an information session.

The Canadian Immigrant Fair is Canada’s ultimate tradeshow and speakers’ series for skilled immigrants, newcomers, international students and other new Canadians. The fair offers a dynamic environment for immigrants who need information and inspiration as they look for jobs, go back to school and settle into their new home. Our mission is to connect these immigrants with immigrant service providers, educational institutes, government services, employers and recruiters in a dynamic, face-to-face environment.

The City of Surrey supports healthy active aging through its Age Friendly Strategy for Seniors, a framework that ensures seniors, families and caregivers are supported through advocacy, policy, partnering, and service delivery. This Focus on Seniors Forum presented in Korean will provide resources and information for seniors and their caregivers.

November 13 , 2018: Vancouver Canadian Immigrant Fair

The Canadian Immigrant Fair is returning November 13, 2018, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Vancouver Convention Centre East Hilton (999 Canada Pl., Vancouver, B.C.), steps from the Waterfront Skytrain Station). Free admission! With more than 1,200 immigrants and 50 exhibitors at our fifth annual November 2017 Vancouver fair, we will have two fairs in the Vancouver area in 2018, starting off with one in Metro Vancouver (Burnaby), followed by our November fair back in downtown Vancouver.
