A taste of Paris has arrived in Coquitlam’s Koreatown shopping district on North Road, south of Lougheed.
Paris Baguette is officially opening its second café and bakery in B.C., at 311 North Rd., on Friday, Dec. 20.
The other is in Vancouver and it opens the same day.
Ironically, the Coquitlam location is a bit of a return to familiar environs for the chain that was actually founded in Seoul, South Korea, in 1988.
By 2004, it was the top bakery in the country and had spread to locations across South Asia before branching into China and, in 2005, the United States.
In addition to the two B.C. locations, there’s four in Alberta and another recently opened in Ontario.
According to Forbes Magazine, many of the franchisees are Korean immigrants who developed a love for the brand back home.
