Crossing the Divide: Deepening our Understanding of Diversity in the Tri-Cities
Like many suburban communities across Canada, the Tri-Cities continues to see its population grow and consequently our communities’ needs and interests become more diverse. Building healthy and inclusive communities require service agencies to be considerate of the growing diversity of residents’ needs in order to reduce service gaps.
Crossing the Divide invites service providers to explore and share promising practices on how to support the diverse needs of their clients by using an intersectionality framework while engaging in brave conversations about diversity and inclusion.
This report is intended as a resource to support service providers and organizations in the promotion of diversity and inclusion within services, programs and policies. The content of this resource was developed from discussions at the Crossing the Divide: Deepening our Understanding of Diversity in the Tri-Cities, which took place on December 2, 2019 & February 18, 2020. The content includes the activities that were included during the forum as well as ideas shared by participants.
